80 Rue Mouffetard, 75005 Paris
It all began in 1983 when the Hostels founders were fresh out of high school, the two brothers who had grown up in the family’s hotel business and loved to travel themselves, created the Young & Happy Latin Quarter on a shoe-string budget (they even painted the hotel themselves at the time!)
It was the first hostel of this kind and of course has been renovated since then, but it has remained the same friendly, vibrant hostel.
Is traveling your passion? The convivial, party-atmosphere of the hostel appeals to you?
You would like to meet people from all over the world, and maybe even connect with new traveling companions? This is the hostel for you.
Situated in a picturesque 18th century building, the Young & Happy Latin Quarter has incredible charm with its spiral staircase.
You will be completely won over by its vaulted cave with exposed stone walls in which you can start off your day with an excellent Parisian breakfast, enjoy a glass or two, in the evening, meet other globetrotters, or sing some familiar songs accompanied by a guitar.
The rooms are lively and colorful while the original stone walls add a warm, intimate touch to the décor.
You can choose between mixed and women- only dormitories, private rooms and a few rare double rooms. Of course the hostel is connected and there is complementary Wi-Fi wherever you are.
The Latin Quarter is the historical Parisian student neighborhood. In the immediate neighborhood of Young & Happy Latin Quarter is on the famous rue de Mouffetard with its bubbling atmosphere, bars, cafes, restaurants, food stalls like the cheese monger and the delicatessen, and it’s authentic open-air market at Place Monge.
You are right there between the Jardin des Plantes and the Museum of Natural History on one side and the Pantheon, the famous Sorbonne and the Luxembourg gardens on the other. Take a stroll to the Ile Saint-Louis and savor the best ice cream in Paris, then onwards to the Ile de la Cité and the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral.
The Young & Happy Latin Quarter is a story in itself!
