July 6-9 – Japan Expo
For over 30 years, France has had a passion for all things Japanese. Since this day in 1978, when Antenne 2 broadcast the cartoon Goldorak for the first time. This French enjoyment of Japanese popular – and underground – culture has not diminished since then. The founders of Japan Expo wanted to create an annual meeting point to celebrate all aspects of Japanese culture.

July 12 – Open Air Cinema
The fantastic free open air cinema festival “Cinéma en Plein Air” returns to Parc de La Villette once again this summer. July 14 – Bastille Day Parade & Fireworks
On July 14th, Paris celebrates the Bastille Day, the French National Day that marks the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789 and the beginning of the French Revolution. With a national spirit similar to the 4th of July in America, the celebrations for the Bastille Day are some of the most extravagant of the year.
July 30 – Summer drive through Paris
Organized by the association “Vincennes en Anciennes”, the “Traversée de Paris estivale” brings together 700 ancient vehicles (cars, motorbikes, light utility vehicles, tractors, omnibuses…) from all periods to drive through the streets of the capital.
