16 December 2016 | #HI! So, I was in Paris a few weeks ago, and I can only encourage you to go and discover (or rediscover again and again...) the City of Lights.
But let’s be honest, it was a little bit difficult to stay in a place that I didn’t know…So I looked for mobile app that could help me in my trip. And, I find 15 apps that made easier my outings in Paris. I really find them very useful, and I think it can be very practical for families, couples, or even for backpackers that want to enjoy their trip. I am feeling generous today, so here you’ll find their names and their great uses:
LaFourchette (TheFork)-Good deals to eat out in Paris (Free)
You want to eat in a true Parisian restaurant? Or just to find the nearest place to eat tonight? This app is made for you! It will tell you the name of this restaurant you’re looking for and more than that, you will also be able to reserve directly a table trough this amazing application (it’s telling you the availability in real time). There is a lot of differents types of restaurants in Paris, so this app will help you make a choice.Enjoy the descriptions (and have a good laugh) and find the perfect restaurant .So just download this app and you will never waste an evening looking for where to eat!
MisterGoodBeer- Good and cheap beer at any time (Free)
I’m sure that I’m not the only one, who spent almost two hours in order to find a pub where to take a beer with friends. With this app it’s over! You will enjoy a beer at anytime, anywhere, and at the lowest price. Geolocate yourself, and MisterGoodBeer will show you the map with the closest bar, with the prices. You just have to choose where to go!
SpeakEasy French-Learn basic French sentences to enjoy your trip (Free)
If you are able to have an entire discussion in the Moliere’s language, so skip this step, this app is not for you. But if like the majority of tourists in Paris, you have difficulties to speak French, download this app, it’s perfect! It will give you the sentences that will allow you to afford any situation, and to survive during your trip in France (country that’s not known for speaking English…) In this app you’ll find plenty of words, sentences and expressions (classified in different groups) that will help you and which are written phonetically (so you will have no difficulty to read and use them)
Citymapper-Map of public transport in Paris (Free)
Thanks to this useful application, you will have the entire public transport network in your phone! You will be able to reach very easily your destination. You will be able to see the routes of buses, subways, trains etc… But not just that, you could also plan your itinerary, in actual times etc. It’s from far the best app to find your way home, or to plan your trip of the days.
Paris Travel Guide – An offline map of the capital (Free)
I think that this app is very useful and practical especially for tourists. You will be able to see the Parisian map even without an internet connection. No need any more to finish all you Internet access package just to find you way in an unknown place. It helped me a lot as a tourist and it will help you too in your Parisian trip. It may not be a fun application, but I find it very practical, you will use it plenty of times (believe my experience..!).
Cinemacity – Iconic scenes filmed in Paris (Free)
If you are curious and love cinema, this app will make you happy for sure! It’s very simple: it shows you where famous films extracts were filmed. You might be standing next to a legendary place! So this app will geocolate you, and tell you if there was a striking scene from your favorite movie filmed right here.
Où sont les toilettes? – Find the closest bathroom (Free)
Who never had an urge to go to the bathroom, like right here right now (please!!) Parents feel especially concerned right? You just have to indicate your GPS coordinates, and the app will do its job. This app is really like a toilet finder, allowing you to reach quickly the nearest bathroom. As a tourist, you will need this app more than another.
Super Lachaise – Discover who is buried in the Parisian cemetery and find interesting monuments (Free)
This special app is very interesting for tourists. If you are at the Pere-Lachaise cemetery, and you want to know who are the famous French people that are buried there, use this app. Thanks to your phone GPS, you will be able to find you way easily and quickly, and to reach the grave of Chopin, Jim Morrison or Oscar Wilde or the monuments in memory of soldiers or war victims.
Louvre: ma visite – Let you phone be your guide in the Louvre Museum (Free)
The Louvre museum owns an app that will make you enjoy and really appreciate your visit. Especially made for the Louvre’s spectators, it’s a complete and practical application, and it’s worth it to have it before going to this famous museum. Find the work of art or the painting you’re looking for, or the details you want concerning an activity (workshop, exhibitions etc…)And you will also be able to listen to explanation in different languages (including English, Chinese…)
Uber – Travel safely anywhere and at any time (Free)
I used this app loads of time during my trip in Paris. It is a secured application allowing you to order a private car (you’re your personal chauffeur…yes!) in few seconds, and to have it in a few minutes. You’ll find candies and bottle of water in the car, and you can choose the radio station. I find this application very helpful and I really enjoyed the fact that the drivers are so discreet and pleasant.
Paris Aéroport – Find all the information about your flights (Free)
This application will allow you to know the exact time of arrival of your flight, and it will alert you if there is any new information about this flight. You can also create a client account, in order to see your favorite flights in your home page and many other advantages.
My city highlights – All the best places and hidden spots of Paris (Free)
As its name suggests, this application will let you enjoy the highlights of Paris. Enjoy the local outings, go and visit the famous monuments thanks to the Parisian map and your phone GPS. You will be able to discover sightseeing of the French Capital very easily. You can also use this app in other countries, so keep it!
Tripbox Paris – Visit best places and monuments very easily (Free)
The sentence that describes the best this app is “your personal travel guide”. You will visit, and discover Parisian monuments, hidden places, restaurants, coffee-shops, and the famous Paris by Night. It’s also very convenient thanks to the use of your GPS coordinates.

Lylo – Shows and concerts in Paris (Free)
This app will help you to enjoy your free time in Paris: find the Parisian concerts and shows. It’s like a cultural agenda for concerts. You will find the list of the free concerts, the hours of the shows, the prices etc.… In short it’s the perfect app to have during your trip, to enjoy your evenings.
Paris kids traveler – Best plans for kids in Paris
This app is perfect if you took your children with you in the City of Light. You never know what activity is suitable for them, so this app is made for you. You will find the shows, the outings that will make your kids enjoy also their journey in Paris.
